Green tangerine spa sheraton boston11/10/2023 ![]() Probably won't stay here again if a conference is here (if it's my choice). If we stay here again, for a conference, I would ask for a higher room, no adjoining room and no smoking near by. Treat yourself to a relaxing spa day or spend the morning being pampered with your bridesmaids through nail, hair and makeup services. Your wedding should be stress-free and effortless. Overall the hotel is average: average decor, bed so-so, rooms not as clean as they could be, no place to hang towels in the bathroom (but on the shower curtain rail), and basically nothing special. Green Tangerine Salon & Spa Green Tangerine Spa & Salon is a 5,500 square foot full-service luxury spa and salon located directly in our lobby. ![]() There is a green option, and it's nice, though a refill of coffee packets, cups and such would be nice from staff instead of no contact over four days and evenings (I did get coffee packets from staff in the hall the second to last day). The on-site spa, Green Tangerine, is a full-service spa and salon chain that guarantees a relaxing and rejuvenating experience with expert staff. We were on the 12th floor of 29 I would say the view may be nice higher, but wasn't that wonderful for us. Yes, over my wife's objections I mentioned to staff. They also smoked, for after coming in late on our last night we discovered all our clothes smelled of smoke the next morning. Midlevel corner room was an "upgrade." Unfortunately the room adjoining had extremely loud guests, who for some reason opened their adjoining door (we found out on our last day). ![]() In the words of Rusk: "Feeling good should absolutely not be kept for those who can afford it.Stayed at the Sheraton over Memorial Day weekend for a conference. Maybe if we’re lucky, this is the beginning of a movement. A stylist in New York is also offering cuts. The employees of Green Tangerine are not the only ones using the skills to help the world. You help someone, you never know when you’re going to need help in your life, and you hope someone’s going to do the same back for you." Rusk believes it would be great if such gestures became more commonplace: “I think everybody should do something like this, because it’s the right thing to do. If someone comes in, shakes their hand, shampoos their hair, gives them a nice massage, and blowdries and cuts their hair, it makes them feel good. "It’s a huge social connection in our lives. “Who knows the last time anyone actually physically touched them?" Rusk says. One of the bigger mental hurdles for the women who use this service at Green Tangerine: a sense of invisibility. They walk out of the salon differently than they walk into the salon." "It’s so important because that makes them walk taller and feel good. “ gives them the feeling that somebody cares, that they look pretty, and that they matter," she told Refinery29 by phone. Louise Rusk, the salon director, has noticed that for these women, feeling like you look good can make an enormous difference. Depending on the Monday, Green Tangerine will tend to anywhere from a few heads of hair up to about 25. Working in partnership with The Women’s Lunch place, a local outreach center, these hair pros provide free haircuts to local homeless women. On one Monday a month for most of the past year, stylists open the doors at the Green Tangerine Salon & Spa at the Sheraton Hotel in Boston to do some good. One salon in Boston has taken that idea to heart. Sometimes, the most effective way to help someone in need is to make them feel good about themselves.
